ECR Workshop offers PhD students and early postdocs an opportunity to present their work and receive valuable feedback and advice on both their papers and presentations from experienced scholars. The top paper presented at the workshop will be awarded the John Tomer Memorial Prize. This prize, presented by SABE, recognizes outstanding research presented at the ECR Workshop.
Who is eligible?
PhD students and postdocs (within 2 years of PhD).
How to participate?
During the abstract submission process, early-career researchers must indicate if they would like to be considered for the workshop - no additional fee is required.
Selection process
To be eligible for selection, applicants must:
- indicate that they would like to be considered for the workshop when submitting their abstract.
- have their abstract accepted for their main conference
- register for the conference and pay the registration fee by the Early Bird deadline (March 31, 2026).
Our selection committee will then review all eligible submissions and notify the successful candidates no later than April 30, 2026. Participants selected for the workshop must submit the paper they intend to present by May 31, 2026.

The workshop is limited to a maximum of 9 spots.
